Mapping properties onto surfaces

In some cases, you may want to map property information from 3D seismic onto a 2D surface for use in other modeling steps. The Amplitude (2D) tool (prepare > Seismic > Tools) allows you to perform this mapping:

1. Open the Amplitude (2D) form (prepare > Seismic > Tools).
2. Select the seismic volume.
3. Select the property you want to map from the Property drop-down list.
4. Specify the model containing the horizon that you want to map in the Model drop-down list.
5. Select the horizon to map the property to from the Horizon drop-down list.
6. Enter a name for the property that will be created on the horizon in Property name, or select a property to replace the existing property.
7. Click OK to create the property.

The property is added to the surface in the JewelExplorer.

The tool uses the Property Calculator to extract the property information. This calculator offers a wide range of property extraction methods. The property expression used in the Property Calculator is displayed at the bottom of the form.
